3 hurt in head-on collision on Blue Diamond Road
Three people were injured in a head-on crash on Blue Diamond Road near State Route 159 Wednesday night, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation revealed that about 9 p.m. a green Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on Blue Diamond, west of state Route 159, while a silver Honda Civic was traveling west on Blue Diamond. For unknown reasons, the Impala crossed the center line into the westbound travel lane, colliding with the Civic head-on, trooper Jason Buratczuk said.
The female driver of the Impala was extricated by Clark County firefighters and taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries. The female driver and passenger of the Civic were taken to UMC with serious injuries, Buratczuk said.
All three people were wearing seat belts.
Traffic in both directions was blocked for several hours for the investigation.
