Coroner IDs man killed in shooting near downtown

A man shot to death near downtown Las Vegas on Wednesday has been identified as John M. Vounas.
The 45-year-old Las Vegan died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. Vounas’ death was classified as a homicide.
Las Vegas police were dispatched to Olive Apartments about 2:40 a.m. Wednesday after calls about gunshots heard in the area.
Officers found Vounas lying outside the apartments at 2300 Olive St., near Charleston Boulevard and Fremont Street. He died at the scene.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and no arrests have been made.
