Haze settles over Las Vegas Valley

Unusually hazy conditions were apparent throughout the Las Vegas valley Wednesday.
Starting in the morning and remaining through lunchtime, the haze made it hard to see mountains bordering the valley.
Andrew Gorelow, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said it’s most likely leftover dust from a minor cold front in the area earlier this week. It’s not smoke from nearby forest fires, he said.
Moving into the weekend, the haze may continue as winds are forecast for the end of the week. Winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected Saturday.
