U.S. 95 shutdown at Boulder Highway ends after naked man taken into custody

U.S. Highway 95 reopened Saturday evening after it was closed in both directions from Charleston Boulevard to Flamingo Road due to a naked, and possibly suicidal, man on the Boulder Highway overpass.

The Nevada Highway Patrol received the call about 5:30 p.m. Saturday and diverted southbound traffic on U.S. 95 to Charleston and northbound traffic to Flamingo, according to NHP trooper Jason Buratczuk.

At about 8 p.m., the highway patrol tweeted that the man was in custody. Travel lanes were reopened in both directions shortly before 8:30 p.m, the department tweeted.

Las Vegas police spent several hours talking to the man, who was on the outside of the guardrail on the overpass above Boulder Highway, before the incident's resolution.
