Sports reporter seeks dream job

Las Vegas sports reporter Molly Sullivan is getting attention from one of the top TV markets . Sullivan, a sideline reporter for Mountain West Conference games since 2007, showed up in Philadelphia gossip reports last week after her two-day audition with CBS-owned KYW-TV.

The station is seeking a weekend sports anchor/sports reporter and Sullivan was the first audition .

"It's a sportscaster's dream, working in that city," said Sullivan, who attended the Phillies' home opener with the station manager.

She took a new look to Philadelphia. She's gone from blonde to brunette.

"Blonde doesn't always work in all markets," she explained. "If they want me to go a different way, I'm up for it."

She worked three football games as a brunette last fall during sideline duties with Comcast Sports Network.

According to Philly.com, the Philadelphia Daily News and Inquirer website, Sullivan stumbled during her audition, referring to St. Louis Cardinals hitting coach Mark McGwire as a member of the Louisville Cardinals.

"Four years covering college sports will do that to you, I suppose. Ugh. Thank goodness I have thick skin," Sullivan said in an e-mail on Saturday.

A 1998 graduate of Green Valley High School, Sullivan would like to follow in the footsteps of Green Valley grad Jamie Little, a pit reporter for NASCAR's Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series coverage on ESPN/ABC. Little, 32, also works as a reporter for the Winter X Games.
