RNC looking to recruit veterans to vote

The Republican National Committee has started efforts to attract and register veterans to vote in the 2016 election, with an eye toward Nevada and Colorado.

Republican leaders announced on Friday they’re starting a task force for each state. The Nevada task force will be led by Jon Staab, who is deputy state director of the Nevada Republican Party and an Army combat veteran.

In addition to boosting veteran participation, the task forces also will focus to give a high profile to veterans issues, such as the problems in the VA and the need to back a strong national defense.

Nevada and Colorado are both swing states in the presidential election cycle, each with a sizable veterans population.
