Downtown Summerlin announces new stores, eateries

Just weeks after the Oct. 9 opening of Downtown Summerlin’s 106-acre retail and entertainment destination, valley residents continue to enjoy even more dining and fashion options with new additions to the center that are just in time for the holidays.

According to Kevin Orrock, president of Summerlin, Downtown Summerlin has brought best-in-class dining and retail to the front door of the community’s 100,000-plus residents and within a short drive via the 215 Beltway for residents throughout the rest of the valley.

“Downtown Summerlin is the single largest community project since the community began developing nearly 25 years ago,” Orrock said. “It has created more buzz, excitement and enthusiasm than any other Summerlin development as the ultimate amenity that will continue to be a major draw for both Summerlin and valley residents for years to come. The more than 250,000 people who visited Downtown Summerlin during its grand opening weekend are proof positive of the interest and pent-up demand for this regional retail/fashion/entertainment destination.”

New retailers joining the lineup since the opening include Nordstrom Rack, Sports Authority and The Toy Box.

Opening before year-end are Build-A-Bear Workshop, Mixx Retail, Envy, Rice Republic, Ethan Allen, b. young and Lindbergh.

Recent restaurant openings include Sushi Loca, Wolfgang Puck Bar &Grill, Red Robin and California Pizza Kitchen. They join already opened restaurants including Crave, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Crazy Pita.

Eateries expected to join the lineup by year-end include Wonderland Bakery, Grape Street Café &Wine Bar, Pieology Pizzeria, Ribs &Burgers, Gelato Messina, Trattoria Reggiano and Bonannao’s Pizzeria.

“We’ve worked hard to assemble the best and most diverse range of restaurants for almost every taste,” said Downtown Summerlin Senior General Manager Andrew Ciarrocchi. “Our list of dining options ranges from local favorites like Grape Street Café &Wine Bar and MTO Café to pet-friendly places like Lazy Dog Restaurant &Bar. Headliners include industry leaders like Wolfgang Puck and, Elizabeth Blau, whose highly anticipated Andiron Steak &Sea will open in spring 2015. It’s hard to imagine, but dining at Downtown Summerlin is only getting better with every passing week.”
