Summerlin builders give extras

More than a dozen new-home neighborhoods in Summerlin are offering special homebuyer incentives through August.

The neighborhoods feature more than 60 home floor plans that range from 1,450 to nearly 4,000 square feet. Luxury midrise condominiums, townhomes and one- and two-story single-family homes are available. Prices start in the mid-$100,000s.

"The incentives are designed to eliminate or alleviate some of the typical costs associated with new-home ownership, such as acquiring kitchen appliances or window coverings. Our goal is to make buying a new home in Summerlin as turnkey and fun as possible," said Kevin Orrock, executive vice president of master-planned communities for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin.

Homebuyer incentives vary per neighborhood. Offers include upgraded gourmet kitchens, stainless steel appliance packages, granite countertops, 17-inch-by-17-inch ceramic tile flooring, ceiling fans, window coverings and waived closing costs.
