‘Really (bleeping) sad’ Rousey finally breaks silence

Despite losing her belt and dreams of retiring undefeated in spectacular fashion due to the hands and left foot of Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey will grace the cover of ESPN The Magazine's "Ideas of the Year" issue.

Rousey is profiled by Ramona Shelbourne, who was in Melbourne, Australia, when Rousey lost the women's bantamweight title to Holm.

The former champion breaks the silence she has maintained since the loss. Several quotes were released on Monday, including Rousey saying she's "really (expletive) sad."

Rousey says she still has plenty to accomplish in the sport, but it might be awhile before she's back in the cage.

"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," she tells Shelbourne.

Still, Rousey will try to get back on track.

"Maybe I can't do it all before my prime, before my body is done," Rousey said. "But (expletive) it, maybe I can."

The special issue will hit newsstands on Tuesday.
