Cubs copycat infielders Bryant, Castro sync Cardinals — VIDEO

On a day on which Bryce Harper smacked home runs in his first three trips to the plate, fellow Las Vegas major league wunderkind Kris Bryant also managed to make a little news.
Even by just going about his business.
In the Cubs’ game against the Cardinals on Wednesday night, Bryant fields a routine ground ball and throws to first base for a 5-3 putout — only, unbeknownst to him, Chicago shortstop Starlin Castro mimics his motion almost perfectly.
Perhaps Castro thought it should have been a 6-3 putout.
Anyway, the look on first baseman Anthony Rizzo’s face is like one of those MasterCard commercials — it’s priceless.
Afterward, Castro said he was just having a little fun. Baseball is a long season. Sometimes even middle infielders get bored and a little levity is called for.
The Cubs won 6-5, snapping the Cardinals’ eight-game winning streak. Bryant went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Castro went 1-for-4 and helped get them on Plays of the Day.
