Four UNLV football recruits to visit this weekend

With national signing day fast approaching on Feb. 3, the UNLV football team only has a few more scholarships available in their 2016 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 2 in the Mountain West conference by Rivals.com and No. 65 in the nation.

Four recruits, including three wide receivers, will make their official visits to the school this weekend. Two-star wideout Elijah Trosclair from Sacramento (Calif.) High School has already orally committed to UNLV, but two-star wideouts Mekhi Stevenson and Andre Collins — who are both rated three-star recruits by 247sports.com — have not.

The 6-foot Stevenson, from Helix High in La Mesa, California, orally committed to San Jose State in April and also has scholarship offers from Colorado State and Utah State, according to Rivals.com.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 192-pound Collins, from Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, California, also has an offer from Arizona, according to 247sports.com.

The 6-2, 185-pound Trosclair had 37 catches for 956 yards (25.8 yards per catch) and 13 touchdowns in his senior season at Sacramento.

James Reeder III, an unrated 6-1, 230-pound linebacker from Rancho Verde High in Moreno Valley, California, also will visit UNLV this weekend.

The Rebels, who had 24 scholarships available, have 21 commitments, including nine three-star recruits and eight junior college mid-year signees.
