Dash cam captures terrifying cement truck crash

A Texas man is lucky to be alive after a cement truck lost control and slammed right into his minivan.

And the terrifying crash was all caught on his dash cam.

Dr. Guan Zhu, a professor at Texas A&M University was about to come to a stop at a red light on Tuesday when he saw a cement truck run the light and lose control, coming right for him.

“It’s what happened, you know,” Zhu told KBTX. “I could not remember in my memory, a truck is coming, and I could not remember exactly how it happened and then the video says that’s how it happened, kind of turning like 45 degrees before it hits my vehicle.”

Zhu installed the dash cam in his vehicle last year after he was in an accident, and it came in very handy.

“It shows pretty conclusive evidence of what happened,” College Station Police Department Lt. Cuck Fleeger told the Houston Chronicle. “By looking at the video of the accident it seems a lot worse than it ended up.”

According to KBTX, Zhu suffered only minor injuries in the crash, and the driver of the cement truck didn’t suffer major injuries and was ticketed at the scene.
