Indian street cook gets big surprise — VIDEO

We’ve all seen a video or two of someone on vacation in a foreign country, filming an exotic dish being prepared. This is another one of those videos, with a pretty unexpected twist.

Uploaded by Eric Zeng, the 30-second video shows an Indian cook frying some eggs. He cracks the first one open easily enough, the yolk falling and sizzling onto the pan.

With the anticipation of getting to watch some expert street cooking, your eyes eagerly watch as he cracks open the next egg. Except this time, it’s not a gooey yellow and white breakfast liquid that falls out.

It’s a chick! Whoa, wait, what?! A chick. No!

As I’m watching the video all I can think is, “Save it! Save it! Save it!”

Which he does. Thankfully. He hands the little guy off to his co-workers and continues to cook. Hungry customers are waiting, after all. He moves on to the next egg when suddenly…

Yup. You guessed it. It’s another chick. Again he saves it from the pan, and goes to crack another egg. And then it happens again. Three chicks in a row! What are the chances?

Actually, the chances are pretty good when it’s all planned out.

To all of you out here yelling, “That’s fake!” you are correct. Sorry to burst your bubble. Or rather, egg.

The video description explictly explains that this is a prank that the cooks pull on unsuspecting tourists. If you watch the video again, you can even see the cook lower the heat on the pan after the first egg is put on the grill, right before the chicks start landing on it. How thoughtful of him. Although, I think I would prefer if he didn’t terrify us with the lives of innocent chicks at stake.

Either way, I guess you could say that this was a pretty good joke to “crack.” Wow. I’m sorry.
