Wisdom flow yoga: Instructor Maria C. Glass Craft & Bead Expo: The 21st annual event is planned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1 and 2 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 3 at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The event will offer nearly 150 booths and 70 tabletops, as well as demonstrations in flameworking and other glass art techniques. Additionally, more than 250 classes are set to be taught by professional artists and industry leaders, with mediums including stained, fused, mosaics, coldworking, beadmaking and marble making. Call for musicians: The nonprofit Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra is seeking applications for its new Academy Orchestra program for youths 15 or younger who show significant potential. The free program will welcome up to 50 new students who will work alongside internationally recognized guest artists and perform regularly throughout the year. The application deadline is April 8. Musicians up to age 23, meanwhile, can submit applications until May 15 for membership in the Young Artists Orchestra. Visit lvyao.org.

Heritage Parade & Festival: The free city of Henderson event is slated for April 23 in the Water Street District, kicking off with a Mayor & Council Breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by a parade at 10 a.m. along Water Street from Ocean Avenue to Victory Road. Festival activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and live entertainment is scheduled to start at noon at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. Food vendors also are planned. The event aims to celebrate the city’s history and its incorporation, which took place April 16, 1953. Fees for parade entries are $50 for the general public and $25 per nonprofit. School groups, community organizations, businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate. Entries will be judged on incorporation of the theme, creativity and overall appeal. Rose Garden: Forty-four varieties of roses can be viewed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Southern Area Master Gardener’s Rose Garden, 8050 Paradise Road. Rose varieties include hybrid teas, floribundas, shrubs, rugosas, damasks, noisettes and miniatures. The beds have engraved signage bearing the names of the roses, the varieties and the year of market introduction. The garden recently received a certificate of achievement in the Small Garden class during the national Sunshine ‘n Roses Pacific Southwest District’s annual convention. The district spans Southern California, Arizona, parts of Nevada, New Mexico and West Texas. The garden is maintained by Master Gardeners and members of the South Valley Rose Society. Pub Crawl with Desert Companion: The event is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. March 24 at Tivoli Village, 440 S. Jay Cutler Desert Classic: The Las Vegas City Athletic Club 2016 Jay Cutler Desert Classic, a men’s and women’s body-building, physique and fitness competition, is scheduled for March 26, with pre-judging set at 10:30 a.m. and the finals at 6:30 p.m. in the Pearl at the Palms, 4321 W. The Age of Disruption: A pair of events concerning Alzheimer’s disease and dementia is scheduled March 30 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 McLeod Drive. A documentary by the director of “Alive Inside,” followed by a community engagement workshop designed for people living with dementia and carepartners, is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and a nonfiction theatrical performance featuring original music, storytelling, poetry and insights on aging and care by aging expert Dr. Bill Thomas and musical guest Nate Silas Richardson is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per event. Conducted by nationally known trainer Don Meyer, the event will teach participants how to facilitate sibshops, geared toward young brothers and sisters of children with developmental concerns. Eighty-eight cars representing 114 years of Cadillac’s history are set to be on display, with cars dating from 1902 to present.
