1. Fall Color Guided Hike: A hike of Echo Trail with a Spring Mountains naturalist is planned from 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 to watch the Quaking Aspen turn to gold and study the science behind the season. Participants will meet under the gazebo off Buffalo Drive. All dogs must be on a leash for the entire event, be up-to-date on vaccinations and wear a current rabies tag. 4. Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival: The 22nd annual festival is set to return to Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road, Oct. 9-11. More than 200 artisans, historical re-enactments, and food and drink are planned. With traditional musical performances from Wicked Tinkers, Dread Crew of Oddwood, Bogtrotter's Union and Killian's Angels, and the return of the dinner theater, this year's event is set to feature several smaller stages with entertainment by the Gypsy Time Travelers, Mullaney, Nature of Mercy, Whiskey Bards and costumed performers such as the Bawdy Juggler Adam Reid, Endless Productions and the Snake Army. The festival is set to be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 9 and 10 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 11. More than 60 species of native and desert-adapted trees and shrubs will be available, including plants appropriate for Mount Charleston and mid-upper elevation environments. Las Vegas Burlesque Festival: Nightly showcases of local and nationally renowned burlesque stars, cocktail mixers and swap meet-ups are scheduled Oct. 8-10 at the Gold Coast, 4000 W. Flamingo Road.
