STUPAK PARK TO OPEN MARCH 13
The city of Las Vegas plans to welcome residents to the grand opening of Stupak Park, 300 W. Boston Ave., at 3:30 p.m. March 13.
Participants can take part in a soccer clinic hosted by the UNLV Rebels soccer team after the ceremony. The Police Athletic League and Las Vegas Bulldogs Soccer Club plan to play an exhibition game on the park’s new soccer field at 5:30 p.m.
Along with the soccer field, the park features a splash pad, a swing set, two fabric-shaded playground structures and four shade structures with seating.
The park’s $1.1 million cost was funded by a Community Development Block Grant.
DIVORCE WORKSHOPS PLANNED FOR SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH
Second Saturdays Las Vegas is set to host divorce workshops the second saturday of each month at the Nevada Trust Company, 9130 W. Russell Road, Suite 310. The workshops are scheduled to offer legal counsel, financial analysis, family therapy, mediation and collaborative approaches. Each workshop costs $45 and last three hours.

APRIL 25’S BIG GIVE TO FUND RAISE ONLINE
The third statewide online giving initiative, Nevada’s Big Give, is slated for April 25. Nevada’s Big Give is a day of online giving that benefits charities across the state. This initiative, launched by NevadaGIVES, is designed to bring new donors and dollars to Nevada nonprofits.
Every registered nonprofit is eligible to participate and receive donations April 25 through nvbiggive.org.
ART GALLERY SUBMISSIONS SOUGHT
The city of Las Vegas invites the submission of proposals for individual and group art exhibitions for its 2015-16 gallery season. Exhibits are being considered for the Las Vegas City Hall Grand Gallery, a sculpture space at 495 S. Main St. and the Charleston Heights Arts Center Gallery, 800 S. Brush St.
Applicants must submit a written exhibition outline, 15 to 20 supporting images, including identification information for each (artist name, title of artwork, medium); an artist statement(s) and artist resume(s). In addition, other suitable supporting materials may include exhibition press clippings. All visual art practices suitable for gallery installations lasting for 12 weeks will be considered.
To submit a proposal, send all materials and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to city of Las Vegas Galleries, c/o Jeanne Voltura, 495 S. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Submissions must arrive no later than 5 p.m. May 1 to be included in the screening process. All applicants can expect notification regarding their proposal via mail by Sept. 30.

Foreclosed Upon Pets Inc., a nonprofit organization that rescues animals that have been abused or abandoned as a result of economic hardship, is searching for foster families for dogs and cats. Volunteers must provide the pet with a safe and secure environment with basic training. Families must also transport the animal to weekly adoptions and events and provide the organization with regular updates.

SOLARI HOSPICE SEEKING VOLUNTEERS
Solari Hospice Care, 5550 S. Jones Blvd., is looking for volunteers to aid with day-to-day operations and patient well-being.
Volunteers bring companionship to people in the final months and weeks of life, often when people find themselves cut off from the community, isolated and alone. They bring respite to family caregivers who are caring for dying loved ones. Volunteers sometimes share a special knowledge or hobby, such as speaking a second language or playing music. Solari also uses volunteers to answer phones, assist with receptionist duties or perform light secretarial work.
