Glitter & Grace provides convenience of bridal expo with intimate feel at Tivoli Village

Shops in the Market LV at Tivoli Village run the gamut from fashion to jewelry to blow-out hair styling. But a new addition is out to make a bride’s special day as stress-free as possible.

Glitter & Grace, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., puts brides in touch with wedding vendors that match their needs. Categories include photographers, cakes, wedding party gifts, music, hair, makeup and invitations.

The two women behind the business are Megan Thompson and Stacey Shively-Kepler. Both have marketing backgrounds.

It’s kind of a one-stop place, they said, to locate various facets that come together in a wedding, a reception, or even the honeymoon, all in a 642-square-foot space painted pink.

“We’re a bridal resource for inspiration. … We steer brides to whomever we feel is appropriate for their need,” Thompson said.

The entrepreneurs said they shopped around for vendors for their initial list before launching the concept and would eventually have a family of vendors on which they relied. Not all of those vendors have easily recognized names in the Las Vegas Valley. In fact, a couple were found on Etsy, a website focused on selling handmade and vintage items.

“It provides an open atmosphere for them to bring in their clients,” Shively-Kepler said of the vendors. “They may not have a brick-and-mortar location, so this is very appealing to them. They can bring them (brides) to a pretty place as opposed to a coffee shop.”

To that end, the shop is set up to help one envision possibilities. It features a table with place settings and offers suggestions for wine glasses, paper flower accents, luggage tags with custom embossing, and a glamorous crystal applique that can be added to a headpiece or a bag, around the neck or on one’s dress.

Some of its clients include Rock Paper Bloom, which makes paper flowers; “love lights” by LED Unplugged; Enchanted Florist; and Studio K Photography at Tivoli Village. Invited vendors pay a monthly fee to be represented at Glitter & Grace.

To introduce the concept, the shop hosted a bridal show at Tivoli Village. One of the vendors was cakelava, 4555 S. Fort Apache Road.

“I see great value in what they’re doing,” said Sasha Reichart of cakelava. “They offer today’s busy bride an excellent all-in-one planning resource … in a beautiful showroom. For brides and vendors, it is a refreshing alternative to the more conventional, large-scale bridal show.”

Thompson and Shively-Kepler plan workshops to introduce couples to possible ways to make their wedding stand out. A recent workshop, for example, showed how one could make a floral headband. For future workshops, visit glitterandgraceweddings.com and click on “Events.”

“Nowadays, the brides jump on the Internet and look at everything. They get overloaded. They get bombarded with so much stuff,” Shively-Kepler said. “We felt there wasn’t a place where women could go and look at everything. We wanted people to come in and have an experience instead of trying to plan (a wedding) online.”

Thompson and Shively-Kepler said they shopped around for vendors to find variety and different styles. The idea is to make sure brides aren’t wasting their time and the vendor’s time, and “we’re not pairing them up with someone they’re just not going to work well with,” Shively-Kepler said. “We’re a resource for brides, but we also help vendors reach their target market.”

Thompson said the Las Vegas wedding industry is robust, but brides still need to be educated on all the options and how to source it so that their wedding is unique to their needs.

Glitter & Grace plans to host a Pop Up Shop Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. June 11 and 12. In addition to the dress shop, a free bridal do-it-yourself workshop is planned from 1 to 3:30 p.m. June 11, with Rock Paper Bloom teaching brides how to make paper flowers. Wedding vendors also will be on site for free consultations.
