Las Vegas Valley will see a warm and breezy weekend

Residents can expect a warm and breezy weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday saw a high of 110 degrees, and the weekend promises more of the same: Saturday, Sunday and Monday all have forecast highs of 106 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist John Adair said. These temperatures are about 3-5 degrees above average for this time of year, according to the weather service.

As the Las Vegas Valley heads into the start of next week, temperatures will rise, a high of 108 degrees forecast for Tuesday.

The weekend will bring some light winds with gusts up to 30 mph on Saturday.

The weekend should stay warm and dry, with no sign of monsoon weather returning for now, the weather service said.

Adair said a red flag warning will be in effect for the Lake Mead area — including parts of nearby Arizona — with the dry grass and winds presenting weather conditions suitable for wildfires.

“If a wildfire got started it could spread very quickly,” Adair said. He recommended that any travelers to the area should be careful. “Heed any restrictions in place,” he said, noting the warning is mostly from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
