Editor’s note: The Review-Journal asked several individuals and organizations to provide their perspectives on The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, which held its opening gala Saturday.
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, view and discuss the geology, plants and wildlife on a moderate, three-mile hike to First Creek and the Grotto; for ages 10 and older. On Wednesday, discover the medicinal uses of a variety of plants that grow along the Moenkopi Trail on an easy, two-mile hike. On March 18, enjoy a spring brook, juniper and pinyon pines and wildflowers on an easy-to-moderate, four-mile hike to Oak Creek and Potato Knoll. Also on March 18, see a seasonal waterfall and learn about plants and geology on the easy, one-mile Discovery Trail hike.
