Jim Rogers, the former chancellor of Nevada’s university system and owner of KSNV-DT, died on Saturday, according to a report from KSNV. Rogers had been battling cancer.

The U.S. demographic of children who are born in other countries or who are being raised by an immigrant parent is growing. In 2012, there were 57,000 such children living in the city of Las Vegas, according to the latest numbers available from the Kids Count data center, a project of the Annie E.
