Ian Alexander had 15 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter on Friday to lead Clark’s boys basketball team to an 85-77 win over Campbell County (Wyoming) in the championship game of the Energy Classic in Gillette, Wyoming.
Sierra Vista’s Mohamed Washington hit a 3-pointer to give the Mountain Lions the lead, then had a key offensive rebound with 11 seconds to play as they topped Cabrillo (California) 68-65 in the Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitational in Rancho Mirage, California.
Las Vegas battled back from as many as 16 points down in the second half Tuesday but couldn’t find an answer for Trevin Knell and lost 69-58 to Woods Cross (Utah) in the third-place game of the Eastbay Division at Bishop Gorman.
Bishop Gorman saw a nine-point lead fizzle away in the final 4:43 of regulation and went on to lose 86-79 in overtime to nationally ranked Mater Dei (California) in the semifinals of the Tarknanian Classic’s Platinum Division.
