Basic and Desert Oasis each won Tuesday to remain undefeated in Desert League baseball play heading into their matchup Wednesday at Basic.
Josh Bastin had 17 kills and 14 digs Tuesday to help Desert Oasis’ boys volleyball team outlast host Bishop Gorman, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 19-25, 15-12.

Michael Rice tossed a three-hitter on Wednesday as Faith Lutheran’s baseball team held extended its lead in the Mountain League with a 4-1 win at Centennial.
Maximo Torres had 11 kills Tuesday to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team to a 25-10, 20-25, 25-11, 25-23 win at Bonanza.
Ashley Ward spun a six-hitter and struck out 11 on Friday to lead host Coronado’s softball team to a 5-0 win over Basic in a battle of Desert League leaders.
Noah Glaser and Julian Herrera combined on a no-hitter Friday to lead Bishop Gorman’s baseball team to a 5-0 win at Silverado.
Jada Bell and Marin Houlihan each won two individual events Thursday to help Green Valley’s girls track team defeat both Liberty and host Basic in a three-team meet.
Sever Stewart and Jack Gordon each won two individual events Thursday to help Faith Lutheran’s boys track team win a three-team meet at Bonanza.
Winning pitcher Brooke Detommaso was 1-for-4 with four RBIs to help Bonanza’s softball team to a 9-6 win at Boulder City on Monday.
