The Mountain Region champion Bulldogs coasted to an 86-51 victory over Desert Region champion Bishop Gorman on Monday in the Southern Nevada championship game.
Junior guard Bentleigh Hoskins attacked from the right wing and banked in a floater with 5.4 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Gorman to a 41-39 win over Desert Oasis at Foothill — and its first region championship since 2010.
The Diamondbacks (20-4) overwhelmed the Grizzlies in the third quarter to score a 70-56 victory at Foothill — and berths in the Class 4A state tournament and the Desert Regionchampionship game, in which they’ll meet Bishop Gorman at 5 p.m. Thursday.
