Bishop Gorman’s John Gaughan came in with the tying run on third base and one out in the seventh inning, and induced a groundout and a strikeout to record the save and help the Gaels’ baseball team stave off visiting Durango on Tuesday, 5-4.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Smith, Wildcats defeat Vikings

Re’Kwon Smith scored 18 of his 30 points in the second half Monday, and Las Vegas High’s boys basketball team made 12 of 19 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off visiting Valley, 80-73.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Brown, Basic upset Coronado

Jayla Brown had 30 points and 12 rebounds Monday to help Basic’s girls basketball team rally for a 64-56 win over visiting Coronado.
