Rooftop solar companies driven out of the state when state utility regulators adopted less generous payments for the excess electricity are hopeful that Assembly Bill 405 will bring thousands of jobs back to Nevada.
Supporters of renewable energy rallied at both ends of the state Monday to support efforts in the Nevada Legislature this session to promote solar and other renewables as a way to help the environment, improve health and create jobs.
Two lawmakers with long experience in crafting Nevada’s rooftop-solar policy said Wednesday they never intended to continually raise the net metering cap beyond the 3 percent level now in law.
