Governor has second thoughts about Jim Morrison

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Outgoing Gov. Charlie Crist is looking to pardon long-dead rocker Jim Morrison, who was convicted of exposing himself at a raucous 1969 concert in Miami. Morrison was lead singer of The Doors and a Florida native. He was appealing the indecent exposure and profanity conviction when he died in 1971 in a Paris bathtub at age 27.

UPS to hire about 50,000 for holiday season

ATLANTA — UPS says it will hire about 50,000 temporary workers to handle the crush of holiday shipments this year. United Parcel Service said Tuesday that it expects to deliver 430 million packages between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
