Firefighters put out fire at vacant home in central Las Vegas

No one was injured Monday night after a vacant home caught fire in the central valley.

Crews arrived about 11 p.m. Monday at 1376 Lawry Ave., near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Las Vegas Fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said the house had previously been used by squatters.

Deputy city marshals blocked off Lawry Avenue while firefighters worked, but the street has since been re-opened.
