Toddler hospitalized after being pulled from south valley pool

A 3-year-old boy was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being pulled out of a pool in a south valley home, the Clark County Fire Department said.

He was expected to make a full recovery, Metro Lt. W. Graham said Sunday evening.

First responders about 3:30 p.m. were called to the home near the intersection of Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Bermuda Road. They found “bystanders” providing CPR on the boy after being pulled out of a pool, the fire department said in a news release.

The child was alive, but lethargic and taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital – Siena Campus hospital where he was being evaluated, the fire department said.

When children are in a pool: they should be supervised by adults, the pool should have barriers, children should get swimming lessons prior to and there should be rescue tools available nearby, the fire department said.
