Student who ranted about mac and cheese charged with misdemeanors

The case for a former University of Connecticut student, who is known on the Internet for a rant at employee over jalapeno and bacon mac and cheese, was continued on Monday morning.

Luke Gatti was charged with misdemeanor breach of peace and trespassing in October after berating a food service manager over his beloved macaroni and cheese.

The explosive nine-minute rant has been viewed more than 130,000 times on YouTube.

The video shows Gatti pushing the food service worker, who refused to sell him mac and cheese, because the teen had been drinking. He screams numerous swears at the worker and eventually shoves him.

UConn police were called and two minutes later, they arrived to Gatti already on the ground. He was taken out in handcuffs and even, spit on the worker.

The episode sparked national outrage and Gatti eventually apologized on YouTube. He has since left UConn, though it's unclear if that was his choice or if he was expelled.

Gatti was scheduled to be arraigned at Rockville Superior Court in Vernon on Monday morning. However, his case has been continued to Dec. 21.
