Vegas accident shuts intersection, sends 1 to hospital
One person was hospitalized with serious injuries and southbound traffic was closed at a west valley intersection following a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded about 12:27 p.m. to the intersection of West Charleston Boulevard and South Cimarron Road where two SUVs collided, according to Metro spokeswoman officer Laura Meltzer.
One of the drivers was taken to University Medical Center with what medical staff called “serious” injuries, Meltzer said, but police reports showed that the person’s injuries were not life-threatening.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Charleston near the northwest corner of the intersection, Meltzer said.
Southbound traffic on Cimarron, north of the intersection, will remain closed while police investigate.
