Roads closed after Las Vegas crash involving bus, pedestrian

A pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a bus Monday afternoon near East Katie Avenue and South Maryland Parkway, according to a Metropolitan Police Department press release.

The crash occurred around 3:12 p.m., the release said.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said. The bus driver stayed at the scene of the crash, and police said they do not suspect impairment at this time.

Road closures are in effect at the intersection. Metro asks motorists to avoid the area.
