UNLV’s Bryson Stott makes USA Collegiate National Team

UNLV shortstop Bryson Stott, who also went to Desert Oasis High School, made the 26-man USA Baseball Collegiate National team for an international series. Team USA will play Japan in various U.S. cities from Tueday to Sunday and at Cuba on July 10-14.

Baseball winter meetings coming back to Las Vegas

Baseball’s winter meetings will return to Las Vegas in 2018 at Mandalay Bay. The resort also will host the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics annual convention in 2020 and 2022.

Records are nice, but wins would be better

I was fortunate to have some good at-bats last few weeks and I tied an NCAA record for reaching base safely in 18 consecutive plate appearances. I also broke UNLV’s record for consecutive hits with 10. It is an honor to reach those milestones but I would trade those individual accolades for a couple of team wins.
