“We’ve been there for you during the good times. Thank you for being there for us now” is a message from MGM Resorts International that defines #VegasStrong after the tragedy at The Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival on Sunday, Oct. 1, on the Las Vegas Strip.
During a time like this, one thing we can do is unite to prove that an act of evil will never define our city. Since the mass shootings, Mandalay Bay is experiencing one of the quietest periods in its history.
EAT (Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, Urban Seed and Revenue Media Group) is stepping up and supporting the same businesses and individuals, who demonstrated strength and outstanding character during this unfathomable event, by shining the spotlight on Mandalay Bay.
Hussong’s Cantina, Lupo by Wolfgang Puck and Libertine Social are at center stage today. Mandalay Bay’s dining list also includes Aureole, Border Grill, Burger Bar, Citizens Kitchen & Bar, Fleur by Hubert Keller, House of Blues, House of Blues Foundation Room, Kumi, Red Square, Ri Ra Irish Pub, RM Seafood, Rx Boiler Room, Slice of Vegas, Stripsteak and more.
There are myriad reasons to visit Hussong’s Cantina at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place: Hussong’s Cantina is the home of some of the best tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and more in town and The Original Margarita; breakfast, lunch and dinner options; an extensive and flavorful vegetarian menu; and complimentary parking at The Shoppes valet.
The original Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, Mexico, turns 125 this year, and a second Hussong’s Cantina in Las Vegas is located at Boca Park.
Lupo by Wolfgang Puck
Lupo has spent the last year perfecting the art of tableside service. Tableside offerings include Prosciutto di Parma & Burrata, Iberico Ham, an Italian cheese cart and pasta. A roving cocktail cart in the restaurant offers tableside libations highlighting a spirit each season.
Negroni and Sangria have been featured, and the spotlight is currently on three variations of The Old Fashioned — Whistle Pig: Barrel Aged ($16), New Fashioned ($25) and High End Old Fashioned ($55).
Happy hour is 5 to 7 p.m. daily at the bar, and, for the month of November, Lupo is offering 20 percent off to all local guests for their continued support of Mandalay Bay establishments.
Chef and Managing Partner Shawn McClain and Executive Chef Jamaal Taherzadeh’s Libertine Social marked its first anniversary Aug. 8 and remains one of the most fun restaurants on the Strip with its inventive and constantly changing menu; Alessandro Munge and Studio Munge-designed Voyeur Lounge, Bar Scene, Arcade Bar, Chef’s Table and Social Dining Room; and a cocktail menu by “The Modern Mixologist” Tony Abou-Ganim.
