Driver charged in northeast valley crash

The 18-year-old driver of a pickup truck carrying six other teenagers that rolled over early Sunday morning faces several felony charges of driving under the influence, according to Las Vegas police.

The driver, Matthew Adam, was driving the 1998 Ford F-150 north on Hollywood Boulevard near Ann Road around 5:45 a.m. Police said the truck left the road, hit the dirt and gravel along the roadside and rolled over, injuring all seven in the vehicle. All were transported to University Medical Center.

Adam, 18, suffered critical injuries. Three female passengers, ages 15, 17, and 19, suffered serious injuries while the other two passengers suffered minor ones.

Adam was suspected of drunken driving and was booked in absentia at the Clark County Detention Center, according to police.

The crash is still under investigation by Metro’s Accident Investigation Section.
