Two injured in drive-by shooting in southeast Las Vegas
Two people were injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in southeast Las Vegas, according to police.
The victims were in a parked car near Palm Street and Sunflower Avenue about 1 a.m. when they had an altercation with the suspects, who shot in the vehicle, said Laura Meltzer, police spokeswoman.
The situation seemed to involve two groups who did not have any prior association, she said.
Police said the driver was shot twice, in the left arm and wrist. He drove to a gas station a few blocks away at East Tropicana Avenue and Mountain Vista Street.
One passenger was shot in the chest but was able to run several blocks from the scene to a residence, police said. A second passenger was uninjured.
Both victims were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and were expected to recover. Police do not believe that this was a gang-related incident.
No arrests have been made.
