Two injured in Monday night shooting at bus stop near UNLV

Two people were injured after a late-night shooting Monday at a bus stop near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

An argument between several men at a bus stop about 11:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of Maryland Parkway, near Sierra Vista Drive, turned violent when one of the men pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots, according to Las Vegas police sergeant Sean McNulty.

One of the men involved in the argument was hit several times, and a woman sitting at the bus stop also was hit multiple times, McNulty said.

Both people were taken to Sunrise Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

A gang unit was sent to the scene to respond to the shooting.
