Woman found slain in her central Las Vegas Valley home

A woman was found dead in her central valley townhouse Wednesday, and Las Vegas police are investigating her death as a homicide.

Mary Luebeck, 84, of Las Vegas, was identified Thursday afternoon by the Clark County coroner's office. How she died was not immediately available.

First responders were called shortly before noon Wednesday to a gated community in the 3200 block of Opera Drive, near the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Desert Inn Road, Metro said in a news release.

Police believe Luebeck was attacked, but they don't know who did it. A motive is unclear, and Metro offered no details except to say there was obvious "trauma" on the body.

This is Metro's 62nd homicide case in 2015.
