Las Vegas police dog bites man during fight with officers

A man involved in a domestic disturbance call fought with officers and was bitten by a K-9 police dog, Las Vegas police said.

Police responded to the call about 1 p.m. at 221 Mission Laguna Lane, near U.S. Highway 95 and South Decatur Boulevard, Metro Lt. Brian Cole said.

Cole said a man ran from officers, and the K-9 team was called to help look for him. Police found him and he “swung at an officer,” Cole said. The K-9 officer helped the other officer, and the man fought with both of them.

At that point, Cole said, a K-9 dog bit him.

The man had tried to hide from officers and cut his hand while breaking a window, Cole said.

He was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
