Man robbed, shot after withdrawing money from bank ATM east of Strip

A man was shot after he withdrew money from an ATM at a bank east of the Strip late Wednesday.

The man was walking back to his car after the withdrawal at the Bank of America at 1140 E. Desert Inn Road, near Maryland Parkway, when he was approached by three suspects just after 10 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Charles Jenkins said.

The man was robbed and at least one of the suspects shot him, Jenkins said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was in life-threatening condition as of 11 p.m.

It’s unclear how much money was stolen.

Eastbound traffic on Desert Inn was shut down near the intersection as police investigated.
