HORNS OF PLENTY
Summer of Ska 2015 isn't just the best bargain of the week, it's probably the best bargain of the summer. There's just no beating $12 for 12 bands on two stages. Stop by the Knight Hall (911 E. Ogden Ave.) at 5 p.m. Saturday and catch the Steady 45s, No Moral, Be Like Max, the A-OKs, Oceanside Sound System, Bitch'n'Dudes, La Infinita, the CG's, Isolated Victims, Spankshaft, Los Ataskados and Child Support.
BURIED LIFE
Second-best value of the week goes to Funeral Party, playing a free show Saturday at Beauty Bar with Magic Bronson. If you're drawn to the dance punk, don't miss this Los Angeles band, which actually hails from Whittier originally — but that's a whole other interesting saga. See the band's Wikipedia page and then head downtown to detonate the dance floor.
FAT CHANCE
As a burgeoning punk band, there's only one thing more awesome than being picked up by Fat Wreck Chords, and that's being able to show off a handwritten contract signed by Fat Mike himself. PEARS holds that distinction. Ask the guys about it when the New Orleans band returns to Vegas for a show at Beauty Bar on Tuesday with Illicitor and Brock Frabbiele. Tickets are $5.
TALK SHOW
It's been nearly two decades since Orgy released "Candyass," which contained the band's update on New Order's "Blue Monday." While the group is best remembered for that tune, it actually has put out some pretty solid music of its own, including "Talk Sick," the act's latest release. Catch the band and pick up an EP on Friday at Count's Vamp'd. Tickets are $10.
THRASH DAY
It been almost four years since the four biggest thrash bands in the world shared a single stage. While it's unlikely you'll see that happen again, Saturday at the House of Blues, you can experience the Clash of the Titans Tribute to Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Next best thing? Naw, but it will still be rad. The show's at 7 p.m. and tickets are $12 ($16 with fees).
