Weekend in L.V.: Gwen Stefani, Culture Club, Melissa Etheridge, Dave Koz, David Sanborn, Huey Lewis, Eva Longoria, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, AFAN

If you are flying into McCarran or driving through the smoke-filled El Cajon Pass on I-15 this weekend for a music marathon Las Vegas-style, you’re in luck because the choices are abundant.

If Gwen Stefani — and maybe a surprise appearance by boyfriend Blake Shelton — at T-Mobile Arena tonight is perfect for high-rollers with her 25-song setlist, then Melissa Etheridge at Fremont Street Experience on Saturday is just right for penny-pinching fans because her rock concert is free.

It could have been embarrassing if they’d gone head-to-head and one outdrew the other big time. Expect Melissa to sing her recent hit “Pulse,” which is dedicated to the Orlando nightclub shooting victims.

Las Vegas also plays host this weekend to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Peter Frampton at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas; Huey Lewis and The News followed by Luis Enrique at Mandalay Bay; Boy George with Culture Club followed by Jackson Browne at The Palms; and Slipknot and Marilyn Manson at T-Mobile Arena.

However, even with the music raging, it’s the party of the year — Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s 30th Annual Black & White Party — that will be the talk of the town and at Aria for the first time. Last year, 3,500 guests raised more than $145,000 to benefit men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada.

Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Olivia Newton-John, Lionel Richie, Penn & Teller, Human Nature, ABSINTHE and FRANK MARINO’s DIVAS LAS VEGAS have all donated meet-and-greet tickets for the silent auction. Be sure to check out our guest column posted Monday from AFAN’s Antioco Carrillo with party details and his look back at AFAN’s 30-year history.

It will be a sea of black-and-white fashions at Aria, while honorees including Melody Sweets (ABSINTHE); hosts Mark Shunock and Jim McCoy, in character as Norma Layman, the bearded lady of Las Vegas; and others including Tim Haughinberry, Richard Hudock, Charles Larson, Creecy Underwood and Lia Rispoli are approved to wear red for their dedication and commitment to AFAN’s mission.

In a sign that summer is coming to an end, DJ Pauly D, who lives here now, wraps his 2016 Rehab Beach Club residency at The Hard Rock Hotel on Sunday. Don’t miss his last performance of the season, but safely bet your last dollar that he’ll be back for next summer’s pool season because he’s been a superstar there. Pauly has time to sort out his on- and off-again romance with singer Aubrey O’Day. Their latest split was at the beginning of this month.

Still celebrating as newlyweds, actress Eva Longoria and her Mexican TV exec husband Jose Antonio Baston will be at The Venetian as she hosts the 16th annual children’s cancer benefit Padres Contra El Cancer’s with George Lopez as MC, singer Prince Royce providing the entertainment and Carlos Santana the honoree for his commitment to community and humanity.

My weekend favorites are SIDE BY SIDE with Dave Koz and David Sanborn at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts tonight and Saturday’s OLD VEGAS & NEW ORLEANS from Lena Prima at Suncoast Showroom honoring her father Louis Prima’s timeless hits.

Concerts with Slipknot and Marilyn Manson at T-Mobile on Sunday and Boy George with Culture Club and The Groves at the Palms also on Sunday round out the jam-packed music weekend. I haven’t written a word about Blake’s possible appearance at girlfriend Gwen’s T-Mobile show tonight, but you can read all about the dating duo in our column in today’s Neon in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The biggest fireworks of all look certain to come from the fisticuffs of UFC 202 at T-Mobile on Saturday night when Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor battle for the second time. Conor will be in top form and set to avenge his first loss ever to Nate.

5 things connecting Las Vegas and Marilyn Monroe
1. Marilyn Monroe, known then as Norma Jeane, obtained her first divorce in Las Vegas at the age of 20 on September 13, 1946. 2. According to some biographers, Monroe lived at 604 S. 3rd Street for four months during the summer of 1946. The house has since been torn down and is now the site of a parking lot. 3. In 1954, Monroe almost married Joe DiMaggio in Las Vegas but the wedding was called off last minute. The wedding was to be held at the Hotel El Rancho Vegas which was located on the southwest corner of Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. 4. Las Vegas has at least one road dedicated to the star. Marilyn Monroe Avenue is located in east Las Vegas and intersects with Betty Davis Street and Cary Grant Court. 5. There are currently more than 20 Marilyn Monroe impersonators for hire in the Las Vegas Valley.
