TASTE & LEARN SERIES TO CONTINUE AT FERRARO’S ITALIAN RESTAURANT

The Taste & Learn series is set to continue at Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar, 4480 Paradise Road, with sparkling wines from Bellavista Franciacorta on April 26.

LAS VEGAS FOODIE FEST SET FOR APRIL 24 ACROSS FROM LUXOR

The Las Vegas Foodie Fest is scheduled from 4 p.m. to midnight April 24 and 25, noon to midnight April 26 and noon to 10 p.m. April 27 in the lot across from the Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

GREAT VEGAS FESTIVAL OF BEER COMING TO DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS APRIL 26

The 2014 Great Vegas Festival of Beer is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. (early entry and VIP entry at 3 p.m.) April 26 in the Fremont East Entertainment District in downtown Las Vegas.

Motley Brews plans to expand the festival to accommodate the local beer scene and feature more than 250 brews from more than 80 breweries. A new focus will be on beer-inspired culinary menus, mixology, educational elements, interactive exhibits and live music.

A portion of ticket sales will go to the Nevada Craft Brewers Association. General admission tickets start at $30, early entry tickets start at $40 and the Brewers Lounge VIP tickets start at $70.

MTO CAFE TO CONTINUE SUNDAY NIGHT SUPPER SERIES APRIL 27

MTO Cafe, 500 S. Main St., plans to present the next pop-up dinner, El Chapo’s Cantina, in its Sunday Night Supper Series at 5:30 p.m. April 27.

The Mexican-themed dinner will feature a menu by renowned chefs Johnny Church, James Trees, Chris Palmeri and Christian Dolias and Jose “Lupe” Avila and dessert by pastry chef Heidi Kovall. Diners can choose from four appetizers, four entrees and three desserts.

JERRY’S NUGGET TO HOST PRIME RIB EATING CHALLENGE

Jerry’s Nugget Casino, 1821 Las Vegas Blvd. North, plans to celebrate National Prime Rib Day, which is April 27, with its Prime Rib Eating Challenge, which is available weekly from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Challenge participants must consume a full double-cut prime rib meal in 45 minutes or less, consisting of a dinner salad, 48-ounce prime rib, a baked potato, corn, bread and a banana split.

Winners will receive a T-shirt and commemorative crown, their meal free and a photo for the Prime Rib Hall of Fame. Participants who do not finish in time will pay $41.89 and have their photo taken.
