Tom's Urban at New York-New York announces breakfast menu

Tom's Urban at New York-New York, 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is opening at 6 a.m. daily for breakfast, including signature dishes such as Hangover Slopper with certified Angus beef burger on a butter-toasted brioche bun, smothered with pork green chile, queso fresco, pico de gallo and cheddar and jack cheeses and topped with two fried eggs, as well as a selection of platters, Benedicts, pancakes, omelets and breakfast cocktails.

Other breakfast menu highlights include filet mignon and eggs, breakfast burrito, lemon poppyseed blueberry pancakes, and bacon avocado and cheddar omelet.

Pawn Plaza adds two more dining options

In anticipation of a fall opening, Rick Harrison, owner of Pawn Plaza, has announced Inna Gadda di Pizza and Pawn Donut & Coffee will join Rick's Rollin Smoke BBQ & Tavern, Smoke's Poutinerie and Rita's Italian Ice as dining options offered at Pawn Plaza, 725 Las Vegas Blvd. South, south of Harrison's Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.

Inna Gadda di Pizza and Pawn Donut & Coffee are both owned and operated by 34th Floor Hospitality, whose partners include Ralph Cautela, Olivier Zardoni, Mark Mediana and Oliver Wharton. Inna Gadda di Pizza comes from the creator of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas' Pizza Shop with no name, referred to as "Secret Pizza." The restaurant, designed like a New York subway, will offer a selection of classic New York-style pizza available by the slice or whole, salads and desserts.

Pawn Donut & Coffee will feature Illy Coffee and oversized donuts with names and flavors influenced by Las Vegas celebrities and accompanying fun narratives on the menu.

More tenants are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Sammy's collecting school supplies through Aug. 21

Three Las Vegas-area Sammy's Woodfired Pizza & Grill locations, along with Sammy's Restaurant & Bar in Henderson, are serving as collection centers for school supplies as part of Communities In Schools of Nevada's third annual Fill the Bus campaign.

Guests who donate $5 or more of supplies will receive a Sammy's gift certificate. Requested items include binders, highlighters, notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, white or navy polo shirts and jeans. Items from Sammy's and other local participants will be collected at The Arroyo Market Square, 7200 Arroyo Crossing Parkway, Aug. 21 and distributed to students served by CIS Nevada. Goose Island Beer to be featured at Lagasse's Stadium dinner

Lagasse's Stadium at the Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is teaming up with Chicago-based brewery Goose Island Beer Co. to host a five-course, beer-pairing dinner at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 featuring a selection of classic craft beverages.

Desert Hops Beer Festival to return Aug. 22

Tickets are on sale for the Desert Hops beer festival, which is set to return to Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South, at 9 p.m. Aug. 22. It will highlight 150 beers from around the world and feature new selections from Nevada brewers.

Musical entertainment, unlimited beer samples and tastes of multicultural food offerings are planned. VIP ticket holders will receive exclusive perks, such as pours from one of Firestone Walker Brewing Co.'s rarest brews and Brooklyn Brewery's 2013, 2014 and 2015 elite Black Ops. In addition to tasting rare beer selections, VIP guests can enjoy early entry at 8 p.m.

Ferraro's plans Aug. 22 Taste & Learn event

One of Italy's top wineries, Allegrini Winery, is set to be featured in a Taste & Learn wine event scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Ferraro's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar, 4480 Paradise Road. Guests will enjoy five wines exclusively from Allegrini, accompanied by small bites prepared by Ferraro's executive chef Mimmo Ferraro.

PDQ, Vegas PBS to host Family Fundraising Nights

PDQ and Vegas PBS are partnering to host monthly fundraising nights to help veterans and bolster services for the deaf and blind.

PDQ's two Las Vegas Valley locations — 3737 W. Craig Road and 3010 W. Sahara Ave. — each plan to host one fundraising night per month, with one benefiting the Vegas PBS Workforce Training and Economic Development program for veterans, which helps them connect to educational services, military-friendly employment opportunities and other programs, and the other benefiting the Vegas PBS Described and Captioned Media Center, which provides resources for the blind and visually impaired and the deaf and hard of hearing and their families.

During these nights, PDQ plans to donate a percentage of sales generated by the charity's supporters back to the organization. The Family Fundraising Nights to benefit veterans are planned from 4 to 9 p.m. the first Friday of the month through December at the North Las Vegas location. Family nights to benefit the Described and Captioned Media Center are planned from 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 25 and the last Friday of every month through December at the Sahara Avenue location. Panevino Italian Grille plans Southern Italy wine dinner for Aug. 27

Panevino Italian Grille, 246 Via Antonio Ave., plans to host the second installment of its quarterly wine dinner series at 7 p.m. Aug. 27. The four-course tasting menu will feature Italian wines from Campania, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicilia.

Habit Burger Grill to open first Nevada location

The Habit Burger Grill, a California-based burger-centric, fast-casual restaurant chain, planned to open its first Nevada location in Las Vegas near Howard Hughes Center at 365 Hughes Center Drive Aug. 12. The menu features charburgers, sandwiches and salads, all custom built and made to order.

The restaurant features 86 seats, including indoor dining with a communal table and an outdoor patio. Burgers are made with 100 percent fresh ground beef, while tuna steak sandwiches are made with line-caught, sushi-grade albacore.

Andiron Steak & Sea announces Overtime menu

Andiron Steak & Sea, 1720 Festival Plaza Drive in Downtown Summerlin, has launched a daily bar and lounge program, Overtime, available from 5 to 7 p.m. It features a specially priced menu of shareable plates and cocktails.

The specialty menu includes $2 oysters, Old Bay shrimp cocktail for $6.50, truffle fries for $5 and yellowtail crudo for $9. Honey Salt launches Sips and Savors

Honey Salt, 1031 S. Rampart Blvd., announces the launch of Sips and Savors, with happy hour specials available daily from 3 to 6 p.m. in the bar, patio and lounge area.

Items available for $4 include shrimp taco, tuna poke lettuce cup, Nashville hot chicken bites, and burrata and heirloom tomato salad. Pizza Forte opens in Hard Rock Hotel

Pizza Forte, which also has an establishment in Sunset Station in Henderson, has opened its second location inside the Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road. The new 1,200-square-foot location offers walk-up counter service daily.

The restaurant is the concept of Ferraro's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar chef Mimmo Ferraro and his wife, Nikki. The menu features New York-style pizza and square, Roman-style pan pizza by the slice, with toppings including homemade sausage and fresh vegetables, as well as gluten-free options. There also are fountain drinks, Italian soft drinks and desserts such as cannolis and tiramisu, as well as housemade meatball sandwiches and three varieties of Hofmann hot dogs: 100 percent beef, pork-and-beef and pork-and-veal. The Filament opens for drink service at the Fremont Hotel

The Filament is open at the Fremont Hotel, 200 Fremont St., offering a selection of signature cocktails, craft beers and frozen novelty favorites.

Borrowing its name from its distinctive Edison light bulb accents, The Filament is located steps from the Fremont Street Experience's Third Street Stage. Specialty cocktails include the Filament Mule, featuring ginger beer and Tito's Vodka mix with lime, and the Fully Charged Colada, with a blend of five rums. Save bottle caps to help veterans

Through Aug. 31, the Bonanza Beverage Co., on behalf of the Miller Brewing Co., and O'Sheas Casino at The Linq on the Strip, will donate 10 cents for every $2 Miller High Life bottle cap collected to Goodwill of Southern Nevada's Veteran Integration Program. Goodwill's VIP provides no-cost job placement and training opportunities to veterans and their immediate family members, plus veteran employment specialists who offer peer-to-peer assistance.
