BROOKLYN’S TO OPEN AT LAKE LAS VEGAS

Brooklyn’s is set to open in MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas at 10 Via Brianza, Suite 110, in early February. It will feature classic Brooklyn neighborhood foods, including Italian entrees, triple-decker sandwiches, burgers and New York-style, thin-crust pizza. There will also be 36 craft and domestic beers on tap and a full wine and bar menu with specialty mixed cocktails.

The restaurant is set to feature eight 55-inch TVs and space for private special events.

Brooklyn’s is scheduled to be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. It will be closed on Monday.

HONEY SALT ANNOUNCES NEXT FARM TABLE DINNER

WINE AND BEER TASTING TO BENEFIT VEGAS PBS

Southern Nevada Public Television plans to host its 26th annual Splendor in the Glass Wine & Beer Tasting event from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in the ballroom at the Westgate, 5625 W. Flamingo Road. Guests can sample wines and beers from 60 wineries and breweries courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada and enjoy hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. A live wine auction and silent auction are planned, along with entertainment by the Woody Woods Jazz Combo. Chef Hubert Keller also plans to present a cooking demonstration.

Guests must be 21 or older. Advance tickets are $85, and day-of-event tickets are $100. Proceeds will benefit programming and community outreach initiatives for Vegas PBS.

BELLAGIO ANNOUNCES CULINARY CLASSROOM LINEUP

Bellagio executive chef Edmund Wong plans to host the Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom, a series of interactive, two-hour cooking classes, Feb. 12-Nov. 10. Wong and his culinary team will share ideas and techniques as they guide guests through the steps to creating a three-course meal. Classes will be held in the resort’s demonstration kitchen, Tuscany Kitchen.

The classes are set to begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 with Italian by the Lake. The rest of the schedule is: Dim Sum and Noodles, March 19; Tequila and Tacos, April 30; Healthy Gourmet, May 26; Backyard Patio Grilling, June 30; Learning to Roll … Sushi and Rolls, July 23; Back to School, Aug. 27; Cupcakes & Cocktails, Sept. 29; Octoberfest, Oct. 13; and Harvesting Thanksgiving 2.0, Nov. 10.

CHEFS FOR KIDS DINNER AND AUCTION PLANNED FOR FEB. 21

The Chefs for Kids Dinner and Auction is planned for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The evening’s Legacy Award will honor Tom and Barbara McDonald and the Corporate Award the Brown Blankfeld Group, both for their ongoing support of the program.

Chefs for Kids is a joint venture of the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Las Vegas and University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and works to eliminate malnutrition and hunger through education and awareness.

THE INSPIRE GALA TO BENEFIT THREE SQUARE FOOD BANK

Hospitality students at Southwest Career and Technical Academy, 7050 W. Shelbourne Ave., plan to host The Inspire Gala from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 to benefit Three Square food bank. The students have committed to volunteering 500 hours, donating 500 pounds of food and raising $10,000.
