SOCIAL BISTRO & WINE BAR PLANS WINE AND CHEESE TASTING JUNE 4

Social Bistro & Wine Bar at Tivoli VIllage, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., plans to host a wine and cheese tasting featuring Hahn Winery at 6 p.m. June 4. The cost is $28 per person for five wines and five artisan cheeses.

CHEF AND SINATRA’S GRANDDAUGHTER TO OFFER INTERACTIVE COOKING CLASS

Executive chef Theo Schoenegger of Sinatra and A.J. Lambert, Frank Sinatra’s granddaughter, plan to offer an interactive cooking demonstration and three-course lunch featuring the music of Frank Sinatra at noon June 5 at the restaurant in Wynn Las Vegas, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Guests will learn how to prepare Frank’s favorite dishes, including pasta e pomodoro and veal Milanese while Lambert shares stories of the legendary entertainer’s passion for cooking.

CARNIVAL OF CUISINE TO GATHER CULINARY DELIGHTS POOLSIDE

Carnival of Cuisine is scheduled to showcase award-winning cuisine poolside from 6 to 9 p.m. June 5 at the pool deck of the Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tastings are planned from restaurants including B&B Burger & Beer, Bouchon, Buddy Vi’s Ristorante and Carnevino, and celebrity chef Mario Batali is set to make an appearance.

MURRAY’S CHEESE OPENS FIRST LAS VEGAS LOCATION IN SMITH’S

Murray’s Cheese has opened its first Las Vegas Valley location inside the Smith’s at 8180 Las Vegas Blvd. South at Windmill Lane. Over the next five months, it plans to open additional locations in the Smith’s stores at 1000 N. Green Valley Parkway, 10100 W. Tropicana Ave. and 7130 N. Durango Drive.

Murray’s at Smith’s features more than 175 types of specialty cheese products from all over the world, as well as national exclusives such as Murray’s Estate Gouda and Sartori’s Bourbon Bellavitano.

LES KINCAID TO HOST GRILLING, BARBECUING CLASSES

LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT WEEK SET FOR JUNE 15-26

Las Vegas Restaurant Week is scheduled to raise funds for Three Square food bank June 15-26, when more than 140 participating restaurants around the valley will feature prix fixe menus for breakfast, lunch or dinner ranging from $20.15 to $50.15. A fixed portion of each meal’s cost will be donated to Three Square to help alleviate hunger in the valley.

The summer restaurant week will replace the previously scheduled separate spring and fall events. Helpoutdineoutlv.org is set to launch May 29, providing a complete list of participating restaurants, menus, directions and the ability to make reservations via opentable.com.

Restaurants already confirmed include Alize, Bratalian, Hakkasan, Pizza Rock Downtown, The Captial Grille and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin.

WOLFGANG PUCK BAR & GRILL PLANS FINAL MONDAY NIGHT FLIGHT

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin, 10955 Oval Park Drive, and Southern Wine & Spirits are set to offer the final round of Monday Night Flights at 6 p.m. June 15, with the winning Las Vegas sommeliers from the previous event competing to win guests’ approval with expert wine pairings for three courses.

RADIUS ROOFTOP POOL & WET LOUNGE OPENS AT STRATOSPHERE

Radius Rooftop Pool & Wet Lounge was set to open May 21 on the 25th floor of the Stratosphere, 2000 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

A boutique pool by day and open air wet lounge by night, Radius offers panoramic views of the valley and a daily Sunset Happy Hour from 5 to 8 p.m., with $3 domestic beers, $4 imported and craft beers and $5 you-call-it cocktails, plus shareable pitchers of frozen daiquiris, pina coladas and margaritas. Appetizers are also 25 percent off during happy hour.

BRAVO! CUCINA ITALIANA OPENS AT GALLERIA

Bravo! Cucina Italiana was set to open May 28 at the Galleria at Sunset Mall, 1300 W. Sunset Road. By the same owners of Brio Tuscan Grille, the restaurant offers signature made-to-order pizzas, weekend brunch dishes and a full gluten-free menu and lighter calorie options.

TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE LAUNCHES ANNUAL FLIP FLOP DAY CAMPAIGN

Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations plan to offer free smoothies to flip flop-clad customers June 19 in honor of its ninth annual Flip Flop Day campaign, underway through June 30. The campaign asks customers to purchase paper flip flops for $1 to display on the cafe’s wall or a $5 key fob that allows for 10 percent discounts for the rest of the year. In return, Tropical Smoothie plans to make a sizable donation to Camp Sunshine, a family camp created for children and families who are dealing with cancer and cancer-related illnesses.

In addition to the campaign, Tropical Smoothie has also introduced Luau sliders and Mojito smoothies, new menu items, available until June 28. The sliders come with choices of Caribbean jerk chicken, sweet Sriracha chicken or Hawaiian pork.

MERCADITO TO HOST COOKING DEMO JUNE 22

Mercadito at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to offer a Cooking Demo Mondays session June 22 on summer recipes. Chefs will demonstrate their skills as guests drink and dine.

Demonstrations are $45 per person, which includes a five-course meal with cocktails, question-and-answer session and recipes. Each event is set to begin at 6 p.m., with space limited to 30 to 40 people.

GRIMALDI’S PIZZERIA RETURNS TUESDAY TASTINGS

Through the summer, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria locations plan to offer Tuesday Tastings, featuring half-off glasses, carafes and bottles of wine (with the exception of sangria and house wine).

Prosciutto arugula pizza is back for June, along with a limited release of URLO (Scream) Red Blend Italian wine.

NEXT CULINARY CLASSROOM SET FOR JUNE 30 AT BELLAGIO

Bellagio executive chef Edmund Wong plans to host the Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom, a series of interactive, two-hour cooking classes through Nov. 10. Wong and his culinary team will share ideas and techniques as they guide guests through the steps to creating a three-course meal. Classes will be held in the resort’s demonstration kitchen, Tuscany Kitchen.

The schedule is: Backyard Patio Grilling, June 30; Learning to Roll … Sushi and Rolls, July 23; Back to School, Aug. 27; Cupcakes & Cocktails, Sept. 29; Octoberfest, Oct. 13; and Harvesting Thanksgiving 2.0, Nov. 10.
