Bellagio executive chef Edmund Wong plans to host the Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom, a series of interactive, two-hour cooking classes through Nov. 10. Wong and his culinary team will share ideas and techniques as they guide guests through the steps to creating a three-course meal. Classes will be held in the resort’s demonstration kitchen, Tuscany Kitchen.

Advance tickets are on sale for the sixth annual Brews & Blues Festival, scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. May 30 at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The event is set to be headlined by Mississippi-based sibling trio Homemade Jamz Blues Band and to feature nearly 50 varieties of beer from local, regional, national and international brewers.

MARIO BATALI FOUNDATION TO HOST GOLF CLASSIC

The Mario Batali Foundation plans to host the Swing Session Las Vegas Celebrity Golf Classic June 5 and 6. Burgers in the Bunker is set from 9 p.m. to midnight June 5 at B&B Burger & Beer in The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The golf tournament, hosted by actor Anthony Anderson and golfing instructor Hank Haney, is set for June 6 at Cascata Golf Course, 1 Cascata Drive in Boulder City. LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT WEEK SET FOR JUNE 15-26

Las Vegas Restaurant Week is scheduled to raise funds for Three Square food bank June 15-26, when participating restaurants around the valley will feature prix fixe menus for breakfast, lunch or dinner ranging in price from $20.15 to $50.15. A fixed portion of each meal’s cost will be donated to Three Square to help alleviate hunger in the valley.

TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE LAUNCHES ANNUAL FLIP FLOP DAY CAMPAIGN

Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations plan to offer free smoothies to flip flop-clad customers June 19 in honor of its ninth annual Flip Flop Day campaign, underway through June 30. The campaign asks customers to purchase paper flip flops for $1 to display on the cafe’s wall or a $5 key fob that allows for 10 percent discounts for the rest of the year. In return, Tropical Smoothie plans to make a sizable donation to Camp Sunshine, a family camp created for children and families who are dealing with cancer and cancer-related illnesses.

In addition to the campaign, Tropical Smoothie has also introduced Luau sliders and Mojito smoothies, new menu items, available until June 28. The sliders come with choices of Caribbean jerk chicken, sweet Sriracha chicken or Hawaiian pork.

THE PERCH INTRODUCES WEEKEND BRUNCH

The Perch at Downtown Container Park, 707 Fremont St., has debuted a new brunch menu, available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. LAS VEGAS-AREA OLIVE GARDENS DONATE TO THREE SQUARE

Three Square food bank has been selected by Las Vegas-area Olive Garden restaurants to receive an $8,000 grant as part of the Restaurant Community Grants program from the Darden Restaurants Foundation, the charitable arm of Darden Restaurants. The annual grants empower each of the restaurant locations nationwide to help award a $1,000 grant to support local community programs.

The Three Square grant was one of the largest awarded this year.

SHAKE SHACK TO HOST GREAT AMERICAN SHAKE SALE FOR NO KID HUNGRY

Shake Shack at New York-New York, 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host the Great American Shake Sale through May 31 to benefit the No Kid Hungry campaign.

Guests who donate $2 or more to No Kid Hungry will receive a card for a free hand-spun shake, valued at $5 and redeemable upon their next visit. All donations will benefit No Kid Hungry, which works to raise awareness for and combat childhood hunger.

HUSSONG’S CANTINA TO OPEN IN BOCA PARK

Hussong’s Cantina plans to open its second Las Vegas Valley location this summer at Boca Park Fashion Village at West Charleston and Rampart boulevards.

The restaurant, which features Mexican cuisine with a Baja twist, opened its first Las Vegas location in The Shoppes at Mandalay Place in 2010 and a location in Reno in 2013.

The Boca Park eatery is set to be 3,250 feet and marks the debut of the brand’s premium fast-casual concept with a full bar and a pared down menu for quick service. Menu items are set to feature tacos and a salsa bar.

MERCADITO ANNOUNCES WEEKLY TEQUILA DINNERS, COOKING DEMOS

Mercadito is hosting weekly Wednesday Tequila Dinners at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd. The four-course dinner offers off-menu items paired with tequilas including anejo, blanco and reposado variations.

The cost is $36 per person with a minimum of two per table. Four menus will rotate weekly over three months.
