Chick-fil-A could be coming to Henderson

The cows better keep up their “Eat Mor Chikin” campaign — at least for the time being. While rumors were flying Wednesday that Chick-fil-A would open soon in Henderson, plans seem to be in the preliminary stages at best.

City spokesman Keith Paul said the issue will likely go before the city planning commission in June. The location in question, a former Cox Communications center on Stephanie Street near Warm Springs Road, is zoned appropriately, Paul said, but a developer would need a use permit for a drive-through.

“The plan would be to remove the Cox building and put up the Chick-fil-A,” Paul said.

Representatives at the company headquarters in Atlanta couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday, but the location is not among the company’s 17 announced openings between Thursday and July.
