Dining Pick of the Week: Bavarian Castle

Bavarian Castle

10890 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 108, 702-778-2800

Tucked into a small Henderson strip mall, Bavarian Castle is like a quaint slice of Germany in a modern desert. Painted in Bavarian blue with a large mural of Schloss Neuschwanstein, a true Bavarian castle, the space provides its customers with an authentic German dining experience. The restaurant serves traditional German dishes such as schnitzel (breaded pork cutlet) with fried potatoes and salad; sauerbraten (pot roast) with spaetzle (dumplings) and red cabbage; and rouladen (rolled beef filled with onions and pickles) with dumplings and red cabbage. In addition, the restaurant also serves a variety of wursts (sausages), including the Bavarian bratwurst, German bockwurst, currywurst and beer bratwurst. Vegetarian entrees include potato pancakes with apple sauce and Bavarian pretzel dumplings with creamy mushroom sauce. Meals range from $8.95 to $30. The children’s menu offers schnitzel, German hot dogs and baked cheese spaetzle for $7.95 each. Soups, salads and dessert also are available. Bavarian Castle is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is closed Monday.
