Dining Pick of the Week: Which Wich

Which Wich

Best in the West, 2192 N. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 100, 702-648-8100

Throw out your preconceived notions of how a sandwich shop operates when you step into Which Wich. Paper bags, markers and doodling are all part of the ordering fun. The 10 categories of sandwiches — such turkey, Italian and vegetarian — are numbered with corresponding paper bag sleeves located in slots along the wall. Each bag is printed with the various kinds of sandwiches available in that category. The beef sleeve, for example, has patrons checking off their choice of roast beef, beef cheesesteak, French dip, corned beef or Reuben. Then check if you want extras — double meat, bacon or sliced egg. Then choose your bread — you can also “skinny” your sandwich by having the center of the bread removed. Other areas ask for the size you want and specifics on cheese, spreads and sauces, dressings, onions and vegetables. Which Wich is notable for offering less conventional additions such as dried cranberries, crispy onion strings, candied walnuts and coleslaw. You’ll also find the Elvis Wich, peanut butter, bacon, honey and bananas. Add your name at the bottom of the paper bag so you can be called when it’s ready. A loyalty card gets you a free sandwich after 10 purchases, with double punches on Mondays. The eatery is tiny with only six tables, and the hallway to the restrooms showcases patrons’ artwork, sketched on their paper bag sleeves as they ate. Which Wich is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit whichwich.com.
