Emeril’s offers Feast of the Seven Fishes

Emeril's New Orleans Fish House at MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, once again is offering its version of the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes, which will be available through Sunday. It's a chilled seafood platter, charred octopus and watercress salad, brandada de bacalao, grilled Gulf shrimp, baked calamari, clams casino and yellowfin tuna marmitako, with a selection of sorbets, beignets, chocolate truffles and cannoli for dessert. The Mandarin Oriental, 3752 Las Vegas Blvd. South, now offers two weekly classes by its mixologist, Michael LaPenna, and master sommelier, Will Costello. "Mixologist in the Making," from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturdays in the hotel's Mandarin Bar, teaches the 12 cocktails everyone should know and also covers distillation, production and tasting. It's $50. "Sips with a Master Sommelier," from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturdays in the private dining room at Twist, covers oak, old world, new world, thin- and thick-skinned varietals and tips on blind tasting, plus a tasting of four premium wines.
